A New Generation of Art Education

The new generation of art education points to creation and aesthetic as the goals; both are crucial qualities of life. To expose and develop the wisdom of human creation, aesthetic awareness, and poetic art is the most important purpose of art education. Art classes develop artistic human visual function, independent of any other discipline, and cannot be replaced by any other subject. The purpose of visual art education is to cultivate the ability in people to "see", in order to penetrate the constant habits of human vision. The casual “glance” must be deepened into an inner sense of "feeling", and the invisible converted into one of life’s beauties.

Spiritual Connotation

Human creativity is a hidden infinite, much like the existence of the universe as a spectrum. Although there is infinite light and different kinds of light waves, the naked eye can see only a small fraction of it. In the same way, the application of the brain to wisdom and development is less than five percent of total brain power. The core spirit of SpectrArt Education is to assist people in exploring the unlimited spectrum of forms of art, exposing hidden creative potential, and cultivating a sense and love for aesthetics.

Through systematic, advanced, and continuous artistic creation exercises, and through practical experience with aesthetics, we can cultivate the ability to create infinitely, and capture every moment, feeling, and emotion of beauty.

The development of aesthetic education must be guided by the teaching of professional art teachers, from the beginning of early childhood education, through the systematic organization of aesthetic courses, teaching the unique expression of the form of art itself, in order to break the boundaries of traditional art education for a more in-depth education, and broader application of the artistic energy of a new generation.

Build artistic character in each individual's personality:

  • Through practical experiences, develop individual thinking and independent capacity of completion

  • From art creation, produce an aesthetic sensitivity to visual images

  • Cultivate expression and interpretation of visual perception and expression.

  • Use knowledge of media

  • Grow the feeling of beauty and ability of artistic appreciation into an accumulation of beauty for a cultural foundation

  • Explore different forms of multiculturalism in the world

  • Cross boundaries of space and time, comparison and fusion of ancient and modern art styles

  • Interdisciplinary: art, music, dance, and drama combined.

Structure

  • Creativity

  •     Creativity is a talent, an ability that one is born with. Creativity is intangible. It is an attitude and method of viewing and dealing with situations. Creativity is a personality trait that not only builds a superiority in other abilities, but also often comes with confidence, ambition, perseverance, and passion, but a lack of a fear of failure. Using such a talent, the natural spirit of learning, can help teach how to have a creative mindset, and be open to learning experienced experiments. Creativity can help turn nothing into something, the abstract to the concrete tangible, and something from the imagination into real life.

Creativity cannot be taught, and it cannot be learned. The process of studying art can only help you learn to believe that you have the creativity, learn how to stimulate your creativity, and learn to apply your creativity. Through the art curriculum, you will learn experimental creation, and how to practice creation.

  • Aesthetics

Aesthetics is a result of the accumulation of experience, and of a gradual induction of organized experience. First came language, for there to be grammar. Similarly, first there was beauty, then there was aesthetic. Color sense itself does not mature or change when we age, but is required to strengthen the development of a system to learn colors.

Aesthetics must be taught and it must also be learned. Aesthetic knowledge is accumulated, not only from education, but by following applications of systematic and organized theory repeatedly.

To break the two-dimensional plane limitations of traditional drawing education, we can employ the use of various media advancements to stimulate the creation and aesthetics of the effectiveness of three-dimensional modeling. But this must also be combined with other forms of art.

Artistic thought has evolved with human civilization, and we must teach in line with the contemporary trend of art. Traversing and exploring time and space of the background of human thought, understanding different schools of artistic thought, and learning the spirit of the expression of art since ancient times, we can translate external artistic skill and tact into a spiritual level of understanding.

Content

Develop a systematic course on education of feeling and emotion. Through technique, beauty is the ultimate goal. From a traditional "drawing", gain a perception of the enlightenment. So the curriculum must deviate from the traditional emphasis on "shape", and instead, encourage meaningful, expressive art for which there is no substitute.

Course Content:

1. Painting:

It includes paint, water-based pigments, ink, prints, crayons, charcoal, pastels, acrylic and more. When painting, our visualization of the subject is an illusion of our mind; but we use very real materials to create texture in our art. Everything has texture and characteristics, and appears physically different. Transparency, dry and wetness, and brightness. Painting process, use of tools, mixing and use of paint, strokes, and manner of painting.

2. Art Design:

Application of repetition, rhythm, contrast, coordination and other aesthetic theory, design lessons for their applications to life. Train abilities and concepts useful in life.

3. Three-Dimensional Shape:

From multimedia courses, take advantage of materials found in daily life and utilize three-dimensional and color concepts.

4. Art Appreciation:

Understand the history of art, enjoy and appreciate painters, the concept of painting schools and creation.

A Comprehensive Reformation of Aesthetic Education in Society

Compared to ancient times, modern humans in our high-tech world live with a lessened and degraded ability in art. The development of art in humans has been inversely proportional to that of scientific and technological advancements. Art education makes art itself return in fullness to everyone's daily life, and makes art a show of another artist's expertise no longer. We have a responsibility to change aesthetic education not only for the next generation of children, but also create a comprehensive, reformed environment for society as a whole.

1. Re-educate parents and teachers in art education

2. Re-establishment of the values f art education in schools and society

3. Further enhance the professional ability of art teachers through training

4. Develop aesthetic environments around children to foster improvement

Visual sensibility is not a talent that one is born with. It must be gained through eye training and learning, similar to how music sense must be trained and learned. Human visual experience comes from the conditions provided by the growth environment; different conditions create a different visual culture. Family, education, urban and rural areas, and cultural background differences, result in individual visual form and art aesthetic taste differences. Through comparative analysis, to explore the relationship between people and the visual ability caused by growth environment, we can use an effective form of education to enhance the visual sensibility of those who grew up in artistically inadequate environments to cultivate good personal artistic sensibility.
